I respect and accept each client’s uniqueness and provide a safe and supportive environment to help them find their own authentic way of being and relating to themselves, others and to the world.
Therapeutic change occurs gradually. Psychotherapy offers clients an opportunity to safely explore and better understand their feelings, thoughts and behaviours. As a therapist, I accept my clients as they are, so it is easier for them, to accept themselves and to, step by step, rethink and should they decided to reconstruct what necessary in their lives.
My core therapeutic belief is that symptoms result from the ways clients learn to function in response to stressful life events. I sincerely believe that there are ways to develop diverse ways of being, but this process is sometimes too difficult to be managed without a support and feedback of another. Therapy can help clients to find a way to grow from their troubles.
To help clients feel safe to be themselves, I work to create a safe, warm and professional therapeutic relationship, enabling a space of acceptance in which an open, honest and healing dialogue can take place. Therapy enables a space to explore and reflect on how we are and how we need to be. When relevant, I offer interpretations based on Transactional Analysis and other schools of thought on the field of humanistic psychotherapy.
I believe that we all instinctively know what is best and right for us, and that we are all capable of making changes. I use a contractual working relationship, where we agree on therapeutic goals with open communication and an equal relationship.
All my client work is regularly supervised by an accredited transactional analysis supervisor. I abide fully to the codes of ethics and the principles of my professional organisations.
I like people and believe that we all deserve freedom, support and a celebration of our uniqueness. I also believe, that our health is not just a gift, but the natural consequence of living what is for us an authentic life. I believe that authenticity is the ability to be connected with ourselves ond the others.
As a therapist I am non-judgemental, empathic, supportive and robust. I am also inquisitive, and aim to challenge clients’ beliefs where it will help them find their truth, but will always do this with an empathy, care and respect.
My trust in psychotherapy comes from personal experience, having suffered from anxiety and depression in my early twenties (and learning how devastating the effects can be.) Following successful humanistic psychotherapy, I know that therapy can work if both client and therapist believe that the change is possible and dedicate themselves to the process.
Twenty years later, with more life experiences, four year’s training in psychotherapy and practical ‘clinical’ experience, I support others on their journey of recovery and transformation.
My early work included working as a carer with elderly clients and a recovery worker for clients suffering with psychosis and addictions. Since 2014 I have been working as a psychotherapy counsellor with charities in Sussex and London - helping clients of the diverse walks of life. Since 2020 have been working in private practise in person in London and online worldwide.
